BREAK THE RULES: Poetry Without Permission

Who decided what poetry should look or sound like? And who gave them permission to make the rules?

Join DK from AccessAbility Arts for a fun, rebellious and inclusive creative writing workshop where we’ll rip up the poetry rulebook and discover what happens when we stop worrying about getting it ‘right’.

Through playful writing exercises, unexpected prompts and a healthy dose of creative chaos, we’ll experiment with language, structure and self-expression.

Whether you’re a seasoned poet or someone who thinks they can’t write poetry, this workshop is for you. No judgement, no pressure, no permission needed!

AccessAbility Arts

AccessAbility Arts CIC is a Midlands-based community arts organisation dedicated to making creativity accessible, inclusive and welcoming to everyone. Co-founded by DK and Lisa, the organisation works to break down barriers to participation in the arts and amplify diverse and underrepresented voices. AccessAbility Arts delivers poetry and creative writing workshops, spoken word events, community projects and other creative activities across the Midlands, creating spaces where disabled and non-disabled people, emerging artists and people discovering creativity for the first time can express themselves, develop their skills and feel that they belong.
